SciTechAdvisors was founded and is operated by Maurice H.M. Janssen. We are located on the high tech campus of the University of Twente. Maurice Janssen has more than 30 years of experience in experimental Science and Technology, especially at the interdisciplinary interface of Physics and Chemistry. Before starting SciTechAdvisors in March 2015 he was full professor in Molecular Photodynamics at the Institute for Lasers, Life and Biophotonics Amsterdam where he was head of the section Physical Chemistry. Among others he was awarded the Royal Dutch Shell prize for best PhD Thesis in Physical Sciences (1989), a postdoctoral fellowship by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (California Institute of Technology 1989-1991), a research academy fellowship of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (1991-1996) and a prestigious VICI research fellowship by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (2002-2007). As a long time member of the management team of LaserLaB Amsterdam, part of the EU funded integrated infrastructure LaserLab-Europe, he has ample experience with operating interdisciplinary research facilities at the European level. He has been awarded many research grants from national and European research foundations (multiple MEuro). He has succesfully operated valorisation projects that resulted in innovative technology that was purchased by more than 25 leading research Institutes amongst them the Max Planck Gesellschaft Berlin, DESY and XFEL Hamburg, the Paul Scherrer Institute Switzerland, Argonne National Laboratories, Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, Beijing University, CNRS Bordeaux, East China Normal University Shanghai, University of California Santa Barbara.
